Advised the CAFOM Group in connection with the acquisition of the assets of the BRANDT Group

Moncey Avocats advised the Cafom Group in connection with the acquisition of the assets of Groupe Brandt and Brandt France, selected by orders of the supervising judge of the Nanterre Commercial Court on March 13, 2026, among 36 candidates.

This acquisition, for a total amount of €18,600,000 (in addition to amounts corresponding to direct payments to certain creditors to enable the free disposal of the transferred assets), covers in particular:

  • The entire portfolio of trademarks, especially Brandt, De Dietrich, Sauter and Vedette;

  • Patents;

  • Domain names and other intellectual property rights;

  • Inventories of finished products, maintenance items, various spare parts, and after-sales service materials.

Cafom’s offer, which best meets the objectives of the judicial liquidation procedure—settling liabilities and realizing assets in the interests of creditors—not only contributes to the preservation and enhancement of emblematic brands of French industrial heritage, but also opens new prospects for their development. The project further supports a partial reindustrialization approach through partnerships, notably with Alsacienne de Recherche et de Production d’Appareils Domestiques (Arpa), a French industrial company based in Alsace specializing in cooking appliances. This collaboration will help maintain a significant level of production in France and create more than 50 jobs in the short term and 130 in the medium to long term.

Moncey Avocats is proud to have contributed to the success of Cafom’s project, which reflects a strong commitment to job creation in France, to the preservation and long-term development of the acquired brands, and to maintaining French industrial know-how.

Moncey Avocats assisted the Cafom Group on all restructuring aspects of this transaction. The team included Pierre-Alain Bouhénic (partner), Clémentine Quintard, and Lucile Fontanilles (associates). Competition law aspects were handled by VGG & Associés (Frédéric Fuchs and Lucile Delahaye), and intellectual property matters by DDG (Jean-Daniel Bouhénic).
